Old Age Security rates to increase by 1.3% in fourth quarter

Benefit amounts provided under the federal Old Age Security (OAS) program are indexed to inflation and adjusted at the beginning of each quarter of the calendar year.

The federal government has announced that the indexing rate for benefits to be paid during the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December) is 1.3%. Accordingly, the maximum OAS benefit payable during the upcoming quarter will be $800.43 per month for recipients aged 75 and older, and the maximum benefit payable to recipients aged 65 to 74 will be $727.67 per month.
